Mindset is a simple idea discovered by world renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck in decades of research on achievement and success--a simple idea that makes all the difference.
In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities, like intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work--brains and talent are just the starting point.
These videos will share some insight into mindset and the importance of a growth mindset in a school setting.
Our incredible middle tier students are preparing for an exciting new adventure called Project Week. Project week is an opportunity for students to work in teams to plan learning opportunities and experiences based on a topic of their choosing. Project Week begins May 4th and will involve teams traveling to different locations to gather knowledge and develop specific skills that will allow them to answer some essential questions about their topic. This is our first journey into student-driven experiential learning and performance based assessments. It is going to be fantastic! We look forward to seeing you on May 13 th for Project Week Presentation Night, an event that will feature interactive exhibits and multi-media presentations created by each Project Week Team—they are excited to share their amazing experiences with you!
